A country of truly breathtaking scenery, Iceland is a paradise for the nature lover. This country in the middle of the Atlantic is defined by its position bridging two continental plates. The resulting volcanic activity is one of the most spectacular anywhere in the world.

 The original Geyser which gave its name to all others in the world is unfortunatley not erupting as often any more. Its most spectacular eruptions take place after the volcano explodes. However the slightly smaller one on the same site erupts about every 5 or 10 minutes to spectacular effect. |
 Reykjavik, the capitol, is the only real city in Iceland. Very compact, it really is a large town in a spectacular setting. This is the perfect base from which to rent a car and tour the nearby sites. This is a quiet place during the week, but on weekends it is transformed into an exhuberant, uninhibited party. Partly thanks to this change and partly thanks to it's easy access to Geyser and Gulfloss, Reykjavik is now truly on the map for a weekend break. |
 Gulfloss is a spectacular waterfall to rival that of Niagra. In a series of cascades, the river Hvila, falls a total of 32 metres down a steep ravine.
