A really rocking pub, this is situated in a pretty bright building which wouldn't immediately strike you as a place that could generate much atmosphere. But it does. Nellys supposedly has the cheapest beer in Reykjavik but don't let that fool you, the difference isn't that big. It's an L shaped room with a solid bar along one wall. WIth some exceptions the crowd are generally pretty young and anyone hitting their 30s might feel a bit out of place. But if you enjoyed student life you'll enjoy it here. They get some good local bands doing a mix of covers and original material and the standard seems to be pretty high. Generally I liked it as a lively spot even if I did start feeling old compared to the majority of the customers. If I was a student I'd definitely be hanging out here. - Nov 17, 2004
