Ok I really like this pub. They have excellent bands on all the time and the atmosphere is savage when there's music. Yeah it gets very busy but you just have to avoid it at the busier times like on a bank holiday etc. It's great on a Thursday or Sunday night too. I can deffo think of a few places you would find people who have a high possibility of having an STD but this is not one of them. Reardons is mostly working class who just want to go out and have a good time. I've never seen a fight in there. The bouncers are fine. They are long standing and most likely know the faces of those who they turn away but those faces can't remember the bouncers which is probably why they get turned away I'm afraid. There are flippin hundreds of pubs in Cork so if you get turned away from one and you spend an hour arguing with the bouncer you probably have little else to do. If you get turned away from a number of pubs then you are probably doing something wrong!
Food is lovely in Reardons too and Havanas has a lovely smoking area.
Only problems I have with Reardons is that at the busier times like Paddy's Day etc they are likely to run out of ice etc which I don't like and the smoking area is about 1/4 of the size it should be for the size of the pub. - Annie, Cork - Oct 30, 2007

Bollocks!! that last comment is obviously some idiot who got stopped on the door for being a tug or scumbag! Reardens is an excellent place to go out the staff are very friendly considering they are dealing with the likes of yourself who get full up with drink before arriving and shout abuse at them all night! I personally love the place and go there regularly, neither myself or my mates have ever had a problem here. You obviously have some personal problem with the place. As for calling it a cowshed, i would say to you you must have been in a few to compare. And for the person who said it should be bombed, shame on you. There are alot of hard working people in Reardens who work every night till 5am cleaning up after the likes of you and you dare say it should be bombed. if you don't like the place just don't go there obviously people do or else it wouldn't be packed every night!
Oh and they do serve food at lunch time and its FAB! - Jul 17, 2007

Pack 'em in, booze 'em up and fuck 'em out, that's the Rearden's way. Too many people, zero comfort and it takes half an hour to get to the ludicrously small toilet. It's like drinking in a cowshed without the glamour. - Jun 20, 2007

Bloody awful place full of the kind of Cork people that you don't want to meet, which in a way is a good thing, as all the fake-tanned, min-skirted tramps and the clone-like bensherman-shirted, shaven-headed shams are off the streets and away from the good pubs. - Jerryman, Cork, Ireland - Jan 3, 2006

Reardens is a typical bar where they just want to get in in there, get about 12 pints into you and roll you out the door at the end so you are someone else problem. Food = Never seen any there. Drink = You might get a good pint but for the most part, they just dont care. Atmosphere = Good if with a group of friends, but as for the place having a great atmosphere, totally over rated, Over all = below average. Maybe it was good at one time, but now, i cant see how. There is no point in saying it is good when it is actually below parr. I hate when friends suggest going there. - Tim Lally, Cork - Nov 8, 2005

Reardens is a great pub for watching GAA matches. They've got large drop down screens so you experience real match atmosphere. Nightlife is great too, the live music is great, my fav regulars are Big Generator and The Laughing Shamrocks. - Paul, Cork - Oct 10, 2005

This 'pub' is far more interested in getting money from your wallet than seeing you having a good time. The bouncers are the most obnoxious in the city. There are some far better pubs to go to. But, if you want to visit make sure you wear a check shirt and jeans, or else you'll stand out. - Corkonian, Cork - Aug 25, 2005

The only people who'll admit to liking this pub are female office workers or lads who've come up from the country looking for a wife. It's an absolute shitehole that must be avoided at all costs. No real Cork people drink there. - cyrill, Ireland - Aug 24, 2005

Where to begin? Reardens is a festering cesspool amongst the world of Irish pubs. It's dank, darkened atmosphere is surely appreciated by its sub human ,troll-like clientele. It is the siberia of taste. One could forgive a poor soul for wandering in here once by accident but repeat offenders surely have no soul.

I was in Reardens last night for an ASLAN gig. The atmosphere was electric, the crack was mighty. ASlan where fantastic, the service was quick and the pints where great. Definately the best live music venue in Cork. Gooooo REARDENS!!! - Mary, Cork - Apr 15, 2005

Absolutely appalling. Check your brain and your dignity in at the door if you pay a visit here. A huge, badly designed shed, garbage music, blokes in ben sherman, lasses with too much make-up. No. - drinker, cork - Mar 18, 2005

Reardens Bar is one of the best bars in Cork city. They show everything from live GAA matches to live music 3 times a week. The pint is great, there is a smoking room and you can follow on to Havana Browns nightclub which has been recently renovated. - Tricia, Cork - Feb 21, 2005
